YEAR 2007

 

The Moratuwa University had the 4th Bolgoda Sculling and Pair Championships on the 28th  Of August 2007.

This regatta was rowed over a 2 kilo meter four lane course in the Bolgoda Lake .

Royal College Rowing team Won the following events and became the overall winners.

* 22nd May 2007    -   RCRC Vs University of Moratuwa – Royal College Won (32 to 8)
* 13th May 2007     -   Ranfer Sprints Runners up (Finals held between RCRC and CRC)
* Oars Regatta - RCRC won recording timing of 3.33 (‘A’ Four)
* Vanangenberg Pairs - RCRC won
* Gordon Amstrong Sculls - RCRC won 1 & 2 Place both
* RCYC Trophy - RCRC Won
* HMS Enterprise Trophy - RCRC Won – 2nd Place also RC

 

Special Achievements

* Maalik Aziz was awarded 'Most Outstanding Oarsman' trophy at the 33rd Annual Royal-Thomian Regatta 2005

* Four comprising of Jeevan Tennakoon, Yadav Chelliah, Madushan Dissanayake, Maalik Aziz and Lishan Wickramanayake created a new all time record of 3 min 19 secs for fours at the Royal Thomian Regatta

* Keshal Jayasinghe and Gishan Karananayake created a new record of 3m 44s for the Junior Pairs event

* Reza Akram and Maalik Aziz  was the first schoolboy pair to win the V. A. Julius Senior Pairs event

* Keshal Jayasinghe, Manil Boyagada, Reza Akram and Muditha Jayasinha   was the first schoolboy four to win the Harry Creasy Senior Fours event

* Four comprising of Amila Jayatilake, Janindu De Silva, Pasindu De Silva, Muditha Jayasinha & Lishan Wickramanayake created a new record of 3 mins 36secs for 1000m at the Centenary Oars event
