The 7th Annual Regatta against The University of Moratuwa

The 7th Annual Regatta against The University of Moratuwa Rowing Team was held at the Colombo Rowing Club on the 30th of October 2008.

13 Races were conducted on a 1000 meter distance.

The Royal College Rowing team won the regatta by winning 09 events of the 13 events worked out. Royal college collected 28 points and University of Moratuwa collected 12.

ROYAL COLLEGE ROWING CLUB ACHIVEMENTS 2008

The Finals of the Ranfer Sprints Conducted by the Colombo Rowing Club was held on the 15th of June 2008.

Each institution entered one Crew consisting a Four, Pair and a scull.

The Following teams contested:

3/ OLD JOES ROWING CLUB

4/ UNIVERCITY OF MORATUWA

The Royal College Rowing team Won the finals by defeating the St.Thomas College Rowing team.

Miuru Diaz  of Royal college has been selected as the Oarsman of the Year 2007 by the Colombo Rowing Club

The Finals of the Regatta Conducted by the Colombo Rowing Club was on the 29th March 2008.

The heats were worked out from the 28th March 2008.

The Trophies on offer were

1/ VANLANGENBURG TROPHY FOR COXED PAIRS

2/ GORDON ARMSTRONG TROPHY FOR JUNIOR SCULLS.

Both above races were conducted on distance of one Kilo Meter. (1.0 KM)

The Royal College rowing team pair won the Vanlangenburg trophy for pair’s defeating the University of Moratuwa at the finals.

GORDON ARMSTRONG TROPHY FOR JUNIOR SCULLS.

First Place was taken By S.thomas Rowing Team
The Royal College rowing team scullars were placed 2nd and 3rd.
